If you are one of the millions of people in the world that are battling their weight then you know just how hard and frustrating dieting can be. In fact, dieting is soo difficult that statistically the majority of dieters are not successful in their weight loss efforts. Isn’t that totally demoralizing! Why even bother starting out on a weight loss journey if all the cards are stacked up against you?!?
In the 15 years that I’ve been specializing in weight loss I have researched, studied and learned from hundreds of my clients’ own individual struggles and experiences.
If I had to sum up my finding it would be that as long as someone is trying to lose body weight (regardless of their level of overweight) there will always be a battle to fight.
Don’t let those articles and advertisements fool you into believing that you can break free from a dieter’s mentality by just eating healthy. It simply isn't true. (Eating healthy is a great way to maintain your body weight, that’s for another article)
The simple fact is, that the body was created to sustain itself. It’s a natural and intuitive process that needs no thought or energy on your part. We live in a society with an over abundance of food and because your body knows exactly what it needs to sustain itself, it does a fine job eating the calories it needs without your input or calculations. (You may sabotage the equilibrium by choosing unhealthy and high calorie choices. But lets assume you choose healthy foods.) T
Therefore, if you were to want to lose weight you need to feed your body less than it wants. That’s not going to feel very comfortable.
Your body will be screaming for more food by upping your hunger hormones, hence the raving appetite. Most people succumb to the intense hunger and craving and the cycle repeats itself again!
So how do you lose weight successfully, and why are so many people failing?
Here at One on One Health we teach our clients the fundamentals of the eating ,dieting and hunger cycles. We give you the tools and the self awareness to win your battle.
Every individual client has a different set of stresses, fatigues and schedules. So it's important to understand how your daily habits are effecting the way you eat. Often it's the simple changes in food type or sleep times that make a huge impact on your hunger levels which will effectively help you eat less calories.
