What to eat after a fast

After a long and hopefully meaning day your stomach is growling and you may be feeling a bit weak and hungry.

Remember from my previous post that fasting is really a hydration problem so now is the time to start re-hydrating. Your sugar also took a dive which is contributing to your weak state.

Fruit is the fist and easiest go to food to get your sugar level back up and at the same time start hydrating yourself. Some people opt for orange juice for the same reason.

Now what to eat?

Since I am a weight loss specialist I love fast days!! So don't kill all the benefits in your post fast meal. Remember that after a fast the stomach and digestive enzymes are weaker so you want a well cooked easy to digest meal.

I like to have one of every serving so that I bring my body back to equilibrium.

That's 1 fruit, carb, protein, fat , and cooked vegetable.

Like I mentioned above I'll always start with a fruit ex. grapes and then sit down to a whole grain roll with a vegetable soup. (check out the riced vegetable soup in the recipes section.) An omelet or small piece of chicken works great as well.

You don't want to have a too big meal because it will hit your stomach hard.

Don't forget to drink a lot to refill the tank!!
